Ann-Marie, my guess would also be Atlantic City, but down around from the Showboat, looking back towards the amusement pier.

This looks like an old board walk at Skevenigan (spelling?), Netherlands. Just guessing based upon prior memory there.

Ann Marie - definitely a beach (no surprise) ..... I suspect somewhere along the east coast of the US since you were in Boston for Bar Camp likely somewhere near by or on the way
